Raw Food Diet
As breeders of large breed dogs, feeding our dogs is an important and costly part of our lives. Maintaining their good health and overall body condition is something we take very seriously. From the begining we researched various dog diets and decided upon a high quality and mid-range diet that alot of breeders also use and recommend. We thought we were feeding a good quality diet, however researching how dog food is made and finding out how commerically prepared foods are detrimental to the dog's overall health, we started to look for another way. However, as a busy family with 6 dogs to feed, we needed something that was both convenient and affordable.
After much research we decided to make the switch to a fresh raw food diet consisting of a fresh ground mixture of beef organs and meats, green tripe, chicken necks & backs, fish and raw meaty bones. We also provide a fish oil supplement, and eggs 2-3 times per week. The change in our dogs was very dramatic. After switching, their oral health was the first immediate improvement. Their teeth were shiny and pearly white and the brown tartar disappeared. Doggie breath and the distinctive doggie odor also disappeared. Prior to this, regular bathing and grooming was the only way to keep their coats from getting a strong odor and feeling grimy and oily. The new diet seemed to transform their coats to a shiny healthy sheen and now they didn't smell no matter how long between baths. An added benefit was the size and biogradability of their stools. Their feces are now small, hard and usually turn white in 1-2 days, and then disappear.
With such good success and better health for our dogs, we started educating our puppy owners, family and friends about switching their dogs to a raw diet. They were interested and, for convenience sake, we decided to supply them with the same food we had ordered and prepared for our dogs.
We are convinced that all pet owners should have access to a healthy diet for their loved animal companions, and we are happy to provide you with information on making a switch for your dog, or starting your new puppy on raw food. As we order in bulk, our pricing is usually alot more economical than what you may be able to purchase through your local grocery store or pet store.

All our meat is of excellent quality and comes fresh from local farms. We will only use meat that is of human-grade quality (the exception to this rule is green tripe).
Note: For green tripe to be considered human-grade it must be bleached and scalded. As this would destroy all the nutritional value of the product we do not process in this manner. Therefore we cannot claim our green tripe as "human-grade".
To achieve and maintain your dog's ideal weight, please feed 2-3% of their adult body weight.
50 lb dog needs 1.5 lbs of food per day
100 lb dog needs 2.5 lbs of food per day
This means that our diet would cost an average pet owner $50.00 per month per dog. Most commercial dog food prices are very comparable in price, however this is a much healthier option.

Chicken Necks & Backs
Chicken is available whole (necks or backs) or ground and frozen into 1 lb. blocks.
Chicken is excellent meat for dogs. It provides an important source of essential fatty acids and protective monounsaturated fat. Compared to other meats chicken is high in vitamin A, with adequate levels of the B vitamins. (Note: Bernese Mountain Dogs require a diet including red meats to maintain their dark coat colouring.)

Green Tripe (*not human grade)
"Tripe" refers to the stomach of a ruminant (grass eating) animal. "Green" refers to the fact that the tripe is not bleached, scalded or processed in any way. This is very important as an excellent source of fat, enzymes, vitamins with a perfect balance of phosphorous and calcium. Green tripe has the additional benefit of providing good bacteria, which aids in digestion. Unfortunately tripe has a distinctive odor that is not pleasant. You may not love it, but your dog will! (Human Grade Tripe must be bleached and scalded, and this would destroy all the nutritional benefits of the food)
